  • Interesting chat at recent car show

My last car show of the season has come and gone, and at this one, I met a very interesting gentleman who had a specific interest in the interior and chrome on my car. He told me he was a former employee of Magna Intl., and he was involved in the manufacturing of the brushed aluminum panels on the doors and dash panels of our Birds. He was very proud of doing his part towards the building of these cars - it was very clear in his facial expression - and he was very happy to see my TBird at the show. He also commented he liked the chrome touches under the hood.

You never know whom you will meet at a car show. I didn't know that a bit of Canadian industry was involved in the making of this great automobile.

The interior leather on your car came from Canada.

as I recall, the company that made the hood scoop bezels was also Canadian.

... but I did not know the interior trim was from Canada.

On another note, I met a nice couple with an 02 black bird who brought their car to the show... handed out another TBN card of course.... finding more and more Retrobirders in the Ottawa area, hopefully they will become a part of this special website.

That is correct Skip, he was a fill in for Jim Mayes who had a family situation and had to cancel. It was at that event that I got to chat with Mark and he made mention of a car show back in '84 when he and some friends were staying at the Toronto Harbour Castle Hilton. Said he never saw so many old Birds in one place. Small world. In later years I met up with Mark a few more times and we Did a Breakfast T.V. appearance when he braught out a new 'yellow' Bird to Toronto and I took our '66 convertible and also had a '56 there. A few years later he had a '03 J.B. 007 at Oakville,'s Ford HQ and it may have been for the new James Bond movie that just came out. Can't recall if it was an '02 or '03 and did not have my camara at the time to take a picture.
Beleive Mark is Collector of Nash's.?

See you in a few days Skip.
