Last year on New Year's eve, I looked at an excellent 1957 T-Bird for sale in a near-by city. The gentleman selling it said that he had it painted "vermillin red" (instead of the stock color) because he liked the color. He was asking about 33 grand, with only 1500 miles on the frame-off restoration, including hard-top with port holes. The down-side was, that it was for sale or trade. He sounded a bit interested in my '05 but I wasn't about to consider trading, and no more room in my garage. He had seen the new (retro) T-Bird on a local Ford lot (back in the day), and liked it, but was not aloud to drive the one they had on the lot, because the boss had dibbs on it. He thought that the new T-Birds would pan out to be a good investment, as he said: "I think you made a good choice." Here are a few photos of his '57:
