as long as your car is under 100,000 miles.

btw $2500 for the repair is outrageous but that's our HO.

        Dianne,

Read message #10 in the link that redbirdsal put in the message above.

Remember, it was not a recall. Only tbirds afflicted with this "disease" are covered under it.

When you took it in, they needed to find that a cop was throwing a code. Normally they will only replace the affected cop, not all 8 and that may be where your problem lies if you insisted that they replace all 8.
There should have been some code thrown on yours if it was causing you to lose power.

We found we could travel at almost any speed with bad cops IF we took our foot off the accelerator and "pussy footed" with the gas pedal. Ask for no extra from the engine and it will run. It will not like going up hills but it will.

I've attached the letter for 2003 owners - which yours is. Maybe you could get a partial refund on the ones that the dealer did find bad on yours.

$2500 to replace all 8?? My dealer was very honest telling me up front that my '02 was'nt covered by the Ford service notice for the '03-'05 models. I ended up paying something around $900.00 to have all 8 replaced earlier this year. The prior month the the problem was the clock spring failing and that set me back around $400.00. The a/c thermostat was the next thing to go this year so now my Bird has had most of the common problems and yet I still am crazy about my car-go figure!!:)
