Are there any parts worth aquiring now just in case there not avaialbe in the future or that are hard to get now such as scripts, emblems reveal molding etc.
I just had my windshield replaced and the guy bent the top part and right side reveal molding. They did replace the parts at their cost and they are not cheap. I bought extra Rim caps for my PCR because I think the paint well come off over time. I can't find seat covers I have 3 peaces and still looking for the 4th peace which is the back seat cover on right side.

Wouldn't it be nice to have the money and the space to purchase the wrecks posted in Broken Wings?
Personally, I don't expect to live long enough to see these 'Birds become that collectible. My grandson could tho.

Considering Ford's support on spare tires, I can only imagine other more specific parts, such as headlight assemblies, hashmarks and interior chrome becoming scarce. It really would be nice to have the space and money, as NotU (like that name) mentioned. There's a price to pay for cool, but the next time someone casts a lingering, coveting eye upon your bird..... Besides, look at the cool group you get to hang with!

I bought a couple of the "Thunderbird" scripts for the rear fenders ... they get caught up in drying towels if you are not careful, and parts snap off.

Drive train and any parts shared with the LS you should be OK. It is the unique body parts that will become harder and more expensive as time goes by. Hoard bodies and trim pieces IMHO.

....I'm wondering if I should buy a windsheild?....as PPG is running them as needed....low production....high cost....Interior bits for the special editions?....Glass replacement for the hardtops?...there is no replacement for the hardtop....hardtop stand?...weather stripping/seals?....wonder if the soft top is still in the Haartz catalouge?....leather still available from Eagle/Ottowa?....I bought brake pads cheaper from Jaguar than Ford...go figure?....Ford definately kicked this effort to curb very early on...but I love my roadster and I'll accept the challenges of stewardship for this vehicle until I am no longer able......
Was missing a fastener, so when ordering, I stocked up on them,
Trunk-liner fasteners
Engine cover fasteners
Fascia fasteners
+ another kind
Bought a few small bags of each from Ford, cost me 198 'dolla !
Expensive, but sure is handy to have 'em on hand when you need 'em.
Also some of the rear quarter T-Bird scripts.
Thinking about getting a couple of hub caps for each of my birds.
You may want to collect the interior door handles, as the chrome plating has been known to peel off of them. I remember reading somewhere that the handles come as part of the opening assembly hardware, but are not available new without buying the whole assembly.

With 2 Thunderbirds, I picked up 2 of the "Thunderbird" scripts and 3 of the hood/tail emblems since those seem to be the pieces that get damaged the easiest. Hopefully I won't ever need them but it's my intention to keep these Thunderbirds a long time.
I can remember when restoring old Fords 30-40 years ago what a nught mare finding body, trim and interior parts were. I never dreamed you would be able to buy some of the stuff available today. Some of it is junk but some is as good or better than new. For me it would depend on the cost to buy now and save. If you bought a car one part at a time it would be pretty pricey. Things like $300. + for the hood scoop chrome from Ford is absurd.
