  • Funbird's Anniversary

Hard to believe, but just about this time of morning 9 years ago today the call was received from Plaza Ford, Bel Air, MD, that we had been waiting for since placing our order in January-the TBird had arrived. "Something new, big and red that I think you are looking for has arrived" is essentially what I was told by one of the dealership owners. And it has been fun, fun, fun ever since. It has been 9 years of mostly ups (with the one major exception), culminating with KT@G most recently. Although I was already part of a TBird club at the time, who would have ever thought that I would have developed such a great group of new TBird friends in the TBN group. I look forward, along with Barbara, to celebrating many more Funbird anniversaries. Maybe a party will be in order in the future.

Way to go, Skip! My 'Bird's anniversary is tomorrow, 9/29 -- -- 3 years ago on that date (it was a Saturday in 2007) it found its new home in Chapel Hill. First time in my life I ever bought a used car. I'll mark the occasion by making a donation to the TBN Dept. of the Exchequer. In 3 years I've put 12,470 miles on it -- all of them pure fun. --- Will

          Skip,
Congrats on the milestone. It is seven and a half years for me. I took my bird downtown to get a haircut this morning and I still get that funny feeling like it's the first day again. I had a cast on my leg earlier this year and being able to drive it again was as great as being able to take a full shower.

I can't begin to remember all the cars I have owned in the last 50 years, but my last ourchase was my t-bird 5 months ago. I have owned all kinds but none have equaled this bird. I liked them from the beginning but could n't see that much for a 2 seater. If they were new today I would do it. The blend of features in this car is unequalled. May not be the best of anything but has some of everything.
