    Re: Trunk Rack

Looks nice and Sturdy Ted. Thx for the pic's. I am very pleased with my TBC rack, but it's nice to know here are alternatives out there for us.

Look I know some of you are getting a tad ancy, but you gotta remember TBC is a 1 man (Aaraon, and 1 Lady (His wifie) operation. Remember when he started all this, he was just one of us, and started a small business just marketing other's Thunderbird accessories. Then like us, he wanted more. Difference was, he put HIS money where our thoughts only were. He's come a long way baby..... And I for one will stand by him. Trials and Tribulations meet us all. He is doing this for us. You must remember the Thunderbird market, though we love, eat, sleep, and dream it, is a small market. For one to put ALL his eggs in this confined arena deserves ours suppport IMHO

      Re: Trunk Rack

I agree that any rack detracts from the Bird's appearance. Either of them are actually butt-ugly add-ons. I don't keep the rack on; in fact, it's been on twice. Once when I made sure it was right, and today for the photos. It's off again. In fact, the first time I tried it was before an eight-day trip to the mountains. We found we could pack everything we really need into the trunk, so the rack came right back off.
I'm looking at photos of the two side-by-side. TBC seems to go just a bit further down the trunk, but covers much less area across. It looks more delicate, which may be why some folks think it actually looks good. The other looks much sturdier. I'd think it could support bigger, heavier loads. But as I say, I didn't need it after all. Maybe for the longer haul to Texas next year.
I don't remember TBC's price; he's not posting it while it's unavailable. But I think it was considerably more expensive. A third one I found cost even more.

          Re: Trunk Rack

I got one of the first one of these made. Aaron at Thunderbird Concepts is very reliable and I had no qualms about placing the order. I'm sure everyone will get what they ordered. This rack worked very well for us when we did our trip to Gettysburg and York Pa. a two week trip. I put over 2,000 miles on the Bird with the two duffel bags on this rack with not one problem. Total weight for them was around 50/60 lbs.

I'm sure he will deliver as promised. It's like a lot of things people add to their Bird. It may not be for everyone but it is what some people need if your going on a long road trip.

I couldn't agree more. Like I have said in each of my posts - Aaron is an honorable guy and he has always been more than fair whenever I have dealt with him. But if there is a delay, then I would so much more appreciate it if he would SAY there is a delay. Who knows? He could be using a shipping company and maybe the issues are out of his hand. We have no way of knowing whats happening. I was just curious if I was the only one experiencing this odd issue.

              Re: Trunk Rack

I received mine 12 Oct. I placed my order as soon as he opened the door for advance orders so I do know if I got mine because I had an early order or not. Only problem I has was that the packaging could have been better. One end of the box was torn open and let the feet stick out. As a result, one of the rubber feet had come off during shipping. I sent Aaron an email requesting a replacement foot pad.

                Hi Everyone,
If anyone wants to Private Message me to request a "next in line" for shipping, please do so. I'll do my very best to accommodate you.

Yes, you are correct; the trunk rack is a large product to handle, package and ship. And to top it off, there are a lot of little attachment pieces that go along with it. It's very time consuming. We are, indeed, working to get them out the door asap! I will absolutely get you your new Trunk Rack. It's my TOP priority. Talk soon and thanks again,
                Aaron

Arron has always been up front. I've bought and returned and never had a problem. Trust is a must. After the fact, here is my addition to how to use it. It is an after market ATV case. I put a rubbermaid case inside for weather proofing. So far no problem.

My rack arrived on Friday and I had the opportunity to install yesterday. Thanks, Aaron. The wait was well worth it. It looks great. Now I need to find a good looking trunk or bag. Dick - the bag you have looks real nice. How did you get the Thunderbird stitching done and what was the approx cost to do so?

Fenner, do a search, "Luggage Rack", on page three find First Chat. I posted several times with #22 having the name on the box. There was a local store here in Wisconsin called Embroidme that had the Thunderbird script font and it fit perfectly on the top flap. PM me if you need more info. This went back to 4/11/09. Dick
