    Parts that are going away. Ac Vent chrome

    Chrome vent small plastic part 4W4Z19E984AAA These fit in your Ac Vents, only 134 left nation wide. Ford most likely wont make any more
    I bought 6 of these from Team Ford in Las Vegas for a little over $4.00 each.

      I GOT FIVE FROM OTHER DEALERS, FORD SHOWED THEM AS GONE, THREE WEEKS AGO. DEALER CAN CHECK OTHER DEALERS THAT HAVE THEM.

        Scott, am I missing something? My vents are black and I have never seen chrome ones,or are you refering to something else?

            He's referring to the Chrome Inserts in the middle of the vent that you move to adjust air flow.

              1st picture shows where the missing chrome insert goes. (Texasbird - looks like you fixed up your photo.)

              2nd picture shows what it should look like.

              If those vents get "man handled" or flicked with an up or down stroke on the chrome itself, the little chrome piece on the lever will eventually pop off and you'll not notice them on the carpet other than as a strange tiny plastic piece. They were used on all 4 years. Mine are still intact on the 05, haven't checked the 02 lately to see if they're still on.

                THIS IS THE CHROME PIECE THAT WAS MISSING ON TWO VENTS OF MY 2003 WW WHEN I BOUGHT IT. ALL FOUR YEARS OF MINE HAVE THE CHROME, I HAVE NEVER SEEN BLACK ONES.

                      All I did was put red circles to highlight the tips on his vents that we're referring to. I think he was under the impression that there were Tbirds that had the entire vents chromed.

                      As a side note, I had to replace 2 of mine and ordered spares when we got her in 2006. I superglued all of them in place at that time and have had no loss since.

                        Well I guess mine are gone as I never noticed them before. I always used the wheels to adjust the airflow. I have to take the cover off to check them tomorrow.If there gone I don't think I'll worry to much. I've had the Bird for 2 1/2 yrs. and I'm still learning about it

                          Thanks Dot I did not keep up with the thread after posting it. But my suggestion is get them while you can because once there gone there gone. These also fit the Lincoln LS. Ford never made Black ones for the Thunderbirds.

                            After checking again today in daylight, I do have the small chrome pieces on my vents. Wasn't sure as to what you were refering to.
