and therein lies the problem!! The ABS Plastic IS the problem. For this to be a "proper" fitting piece, it NEEDS to be Stainless. IMHO
Dave: Many years ago when QAA worked on our deck strip, they tried to do something in SS for the tail light but with the curves it has, his equipment just was not right.

To cut and bend a piece of S.S. in the shape would be IMO impossible .I worked for a S.S. arch.metal shop and this would have to be a two piece item , the curve at the top of the tailight and the flat section which would have to be cut open. The two pieces would have to be welded together and polished.About a $500 job in fabrication after working all the bugs for a few sold. This not mentioning the equipment needed .

And that's what they told the Wright Brother's......oh........and Aaron at TBC when he was designing the eyebrow's too.

I wish I could re-find the websight, Several months ago the subject of spray on chrome came up with Jay Leno. Anyway I got looking further and found a site that Spray chromed various automotive parts and they sold 02-05 T-bird tail lights with the upper section [ where your chrome covers would go] Spray chromed! Really looked good IMO. I've tried to find the site with no luck ,sorry...John

Dave - Can't tell for sure from the pictures provided on the other thread, but I don't think the eyebrows have a front flat front edge section like the tail light rims. I tried to find them on TBC's website, but couldn't find them. I think Ed was noting that part can't be shaped without being cut separately and welding.

Hadn't seen those anywhere. They look sharp! Are they the front light eyebrows placed on the rear lights?

Jay go to #35 post and you will find the chrome parts that are sprayed on not made from metal. As I said IMO can't be made in one piece from S.S. or any other metal.Maybe a solid block of S.S. could be milled out but that would cost quite a bit. I did think that was what we were talking about one piece.

                        Re: Tail light rims question

Ha, it's funny that you guys bring up the Chrome Spray. Lately, my good buddy, and fellow car enthusiast, polishing pro, just informed me that he invested in the "Spray Chrome" equipment and material. I was at his facility yesterday and he brought it up again to me that he can do it. Personally, I want REAL chrome, so I haven't given it much thought. But, I think you guys might have a great idea with the Tail Bezels. I too agree that the tail bezels would look amazing in a real Chrome finish! I've looked into having them manufactured, and you are correct, it's about $500 to manufacture a set, which is not worth it in my opinion... plus, you have to purchase a large quantity, ouch. So, spray on Chrome could be the solution and I have the resource. There is one little thing that my buddy told me that surprised me though; it's $1200 a gallon. WOW. So, anyhow, this could be an option?

It would be nice if the company did an exchange of parts. They send a chrome set ,you send your's back to them .This way you can use the car and change your tailight bulbs at the same time.
