Does fit in trunk, easily. I'd have to go back and do some research on brand / manufacturer. I had covered in vinyl, reduced chance of scratching the tonneau just liked the contrast of vinyl / paint. Felt the paint threw of the proportions of the car.

If you are talking about Gary Kimmel's, I have the classic and it does fit in the trunk It should have come with a DVD demonstrating how to do it, which involved taking out the spare wheel cover. It takes me 20 minutes to remember how to do it each time. I have managed to fit it in the trunk without removing the floor, but can't remember how I did that!

Oh, and it leaves a little room either side for smallish items.

                Alex,
I tuck my 2 Kimmel sections on top of each other up into the little cubby and let them extend toward the trunk latch. Learned the technique from Larry. In this method you do not have to remove the tire cover. It leaves room on both sides for a couple good sized duffle bags and a detail kit. Then I lay a garment bag over the top.

You can try it out when you start your West Coast to Nashville caravan to the TBN 10th Anniversary in 2012

Some really good stuff here. I like the idea of covering the toneau with interior matching vinyl, for several reasons. Is the 2 peice strong enough to support a parade rider as discussed in another thread?

                      Roger,

I know I've managed it before without removing the floor, but never without a little pressure to close the lid, which makes me nervous. Taking the floor out allows the lid to "drop" into place. I'm going to have to experiment again and draw myself a diagram - normally I'm in too much of a hurry with little time to experiment.

If you remove the enclosure sleeve for the cubby you will find that the two pieces fit into the pocket with more room to spare and you will not have to take out the floor over the spare tire. I am going to line the inside of the cubby area with matching floor carpet and probably just leave the cubby enclosure sleeve out permanently.

Paul, My cover was made by a company called Kustomotive 2000, my understanding is after they went out of business / closed shop, Powersport California Custom then started providing 2 styles of flat tonneau or boot. One followed the curve of the speaker area as mine does, another flat style was straight across. Not sure if they still make them or not, I do know for a time, they were not shown on the website, however they were available. You can find their website online and contact them directly to inquire if the flat styles are available.
