    Re: Merlot4 at night

TOTM is essentially a juried contest judged by you (TBN members, that is). By definition there has to be an arbitrary set of rules for this, even if they are, or appear limiting. The lines of the car lend themselves to visual exploration and I'm sure that more than a few have pursued this with interesting results. I have no real interest in TOTM for myself, but did want to share what I happened to see.
I think that as long as no one decides to critique quality of the artistic rendering -unless specifically asked, and that comments are kept positive, that it would be fun to see what others come up with as Texasbird suggested. Arbitrary thoughts on my part, but I've seen feelings hurt and photographic interests squelched with unnecessary negative feedback.
Just my thoughts, I hope that others will consider sharing their artistic renderings. I'm glad that Rerdmann17 started the ball rolling in this direction.

Rerdmann17, I thought the turquoise lines in the tail lights was a nice touch.

This one has been up before, but bears repeating in this context.

Can we use Photoshop and digital effects for TOTM entries?

Not sure to what extent . . . I've always trimmed trees, picked up trash, moved wires - general clean up. Never submitted anything that had extensive reworking. This gets into an unchartered unfair advantage situation. I don't think we want to go there on what is supposed to be a low key, all inclusive, just for fun contest.

Richard, your two picts were just choice. You saw a great shot and took it. Here is another example of the picture I posted earlier. This is for everybody that has an opinion on which color is fastest (with or without the high speed trunk matt) "Black is still the fastest." Paint in or think how yours would look. IMHO the TOTM should stay with pictures that have not been changed in anyway. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I'm proud to be the owner of my black 2002 Thunderbird and my wife would never part with her black 1996 Thunderbird. Post the best looking pictures that you can. You may never win but each entry is a winner because you thought it was. Just have fun with this site. That's what we all should be doing. I'll get off the soapbox now. Dick

To the point and well said! But I only have an old shower curtain in my trunk, maybe that's what slows it down... Gee, you learn so much here.

                Nice images.

Those night shots perfect the look of the car. Makes it look black.

(Seriously, I'm jealous - I think the merlot/tan is the prettiest of them all)

And mine always seems to go faster with a sexy blonde in the passenger seat; I married one for that reason.

It's never been disallowed, and was encouraged for the April Fool's TOTM .

Like I said in the other thread. It's the voter's decision whether they like your photo or not.
