    Re: Top On

Top went on last Friday, oil changed, washed and waxed on Sat.
Got one last run Mon. to the golf course and off to storage on Wed.
Put on about 6,000 KM (3,600 M) this season, odometer now has 54,200 KM (32,500 M), plenty of miles and smiles left for many more years of fun.

Put the hard top on black bird last weekend in anticipation of cool and rainy weather...what happens? Indian Summer here in the Northeast...just my luck...could have gotten another week. I need to publicly thank my wife for not saying, "I told you so."

Top down yesterday and had time to do a little fishing. I guess retirement isn't so bad after all. At least you can pick your days.

It is hard to say when a good time to put the hard top on down here. Just about everything day is nice for the top to be down. Only time the soft-top is even put up is when rains sometimes. So most the time the hard top just stays in its stand tucked away.

Our hard top went on last week. Susan thinks she just got a new car with portholes.

Put the top on my bird yesterday because my son in law was available to assist me. Looks like weather has changed again and temps to be 74 all week. However November is my usual month for the change, as it gives me a few months to drive it with top on. It's a totally different ride.

Put my hard top on about a month ago and put the car in winter storage yesterday. It is a sad time of year but every spring it's like taking delivery of a new car! And, keeping it out of the harsh weather and salted roads, it will stay like a new car for a long time. Could have gotten several more weeks of driving but where I store it, it needed to go by the first of November.

                  Re: Top On

Going to leave the hard top off this year. Just started thinking that it was getting time to switch out the 2nd garage spot. The tbird moves to the end garage and the old Explorer comes up to the second spot. Need to get it ready to serve as the winter beater again. At least this year I won't have the back filled with broken furniture pieces from the move. So now I won't look like Granny and Elle Mae should be riding with me. TEEHEE

The Blackfeet Indians word for Winter is also the same word they use for "Hell." Imagine the situation when Christianity was first introduced to the Blackfeet. Fact, the missionaries changed Jesus's Birthday to the spring at the gathering of the nations. You may be right.

Well I went out for a ride this afternoon with the top on and then parked the bird, put on the cover and walked away sad. I will be back the first of each month to start her up and drive around the underground parking, just a tease. Never know, maybe we'll have to head to Florida in March for a couple of weeks.

Decided to leave the hard top off this year since we'll have an early start with top down season for the trip to Texas. Silver Bullet goes into winter hibernation on Saturday.

Today it was a breezy 91 degrees and MD got to go out top down. I also took the Shelby out, and I'm happy to say...it was much more fun to drive the Bird. The Shelby is too much like work...clutch is heavy and hard to deal with. Oh, shi*...I just ended a sentence with a preposition!
Oh, dang a dangling participle. We must get WITH it.

OK - enough y'all. I just happen to be picky about grammar. And yes, "y'all" is truly a word, at least here in the south!

                            Now,

I drove MD top-down in 55 degree weather today. Now I KNOW I've lost my mind. I would have taken Goldi (she's got her top on), but the Shelby was blocking her, and I HATE the Shelby!

Now that I've put my hard top on, I'm beginning to appreciate again how great the car looks with it in place. I haven't used it in more than two years. We have been experiencing rather mild winters, so the top remained on the stand until now. Miracle of miracles! The compliments I have received with the hard top on the car. I drove to work yesterday and no less than three people commented on how great the car looks. Maybe it is the portholes. So, because of all the attention, I guess I'll leave it on until March.
