Re: WHAT COLOR IS THIS THUNDERBIRD
I for one can attest to the fact that there was no color manipulation of the picture in post #1. Ron's camera did a pretty good job capturing the actual hue of the T-bird as it was sitting in the parking lot. We were not with Ron when he took the picture, but we did come along later we also did a double take as we saw this "strange" colored T-bird in the parking lot.
It appeared to be a milk chocolate brown until some head lights revealed its actual color.21 years, 174K miles, 48 States X 2 & DC, 9 Canadian provinces, 8 European countries, 3 Caribbean Islands, 3 Hawaiian Islands, 100+ National Park locations, 150+ T-bird events, 190+ retrobird diecasts/models, 13 TOTM pics & some very special friends...THANKS TBN !

I took the same photo from about the same angle, with and without flash, so here's the flash version of the same car in the same spot without having to color manipulate it.
and another angle of it along with the light it was under.Last edited by 5bird7; Nov 1, 2010, 09:29 PM.Limited Edition databases for 007 msg..#26 , PCR sticky, and Cashmere msg.#64

Re: WHAT COLOR IS THIS THUNDERBIRD
Thanks 5bird7 for graphically illustrating the vast difference flash can make, this was a good lesson; not everyone uses it to advantage. However, for those -myself included, who were not there, using flash wasn't a possibility. A gentle reminder that what I used wasn't color manipulation which is a departure from actuality, but rather color correction, which is restoration of what may/should have been the correct color/tone. I thought this thread was very interesting since I'm very interested in color/tone perception. If there are any synesthetes out there I would love to hear how you perceived the originally posted image and the corrected version(s).Life without passion is no life at all.
