  • Oh I am so not mechanically inclined!!

Figured even I could swap out the wiper blades..Not!! While replacing the passenger side blade(already successful on the drivers side) the little hook part where the blade clicks in to slipped out of my hand and being spring loaded--CRACK..hit the windshield..Lucky the ding was small and could be repaired. Not even noticeable. The repair guy said even they had done that while working on cars. Still didn't feel any less clumsy. Be warned!! Have a good grip when replacing blades!!

I've done that before, too, but not on the Bird. Because I have too many thumbs, I learned to put a towel or something soft to cushion the wiper should it let loose and hit the windshield...

R.G. LeTourneau, famous industrialist, was asked, "How did you you learn to make such good decisions?" He replied, "Experience." He was then asked, "And how did you get experience?" to which he replied, "Bad decisions."

Tim, did you ever get the wind screen modified and installed? If so we need pictures.
Hope all is well with you and Debbie.

Bill is referring to a wind screen I received from a company called "Love the Drive." They have been in the testing phase for over a year and through many e-mails they finally sent me one to try out. It is very functional and looks good too!( my opinion of course) There are a couple of pics on the Love the Drive web sight if you are interested. They are supposed to send brackets that are going to make the tonneau fit over the wind screen supports better. It doesn't bother me though just the way it is. I told Bill I would post pictures whe I figure out how. Hopefully soon. Tim Rowand

I had Ford change my wiper blades as they were on sale.Well guess what .. yes they cracked the windshield. The mechanic who worked on it never said anything and I found the windshield cracked the next day after the sun heated it.The dealer was not to happy replacing it with an original T-Bird logo windshield.
