Wont rev past 3000???

Hi,
Pulled the bird out of the garage after a month, it starts fine but it wont rev past 3000 rpm. The engine is idling smooth and there is no check engine light on. Any body else had this problem??

THERE IS A REV LIMITER WHEN YOU ARE IN PARK OR NETURAL, AND DON'T FORGET REVERSE.

Oh, yes a rev limiter, never thought of that. boy, do i feel dumb now.

It got me too year before last , after cops deal , car went to limp mode , didnt know about that and drove 10 miles home in limp mode . Turned the car off and restarted , all was fine expect for the miss . When I tried to rev it up , 3000 was all I got . Went to the web , found this site ,explained what had happened boy did people chime in . They were right , joined up , and been Birding with a great bunch of nuts ever since !
