· Just want to thank TBN for all the great information on the Retro Birds. The information I received from the membership was instrumental in my purchase of my “BORLA EXHAUST”. When I was 10 years old I fell in love with the new 1955 Thunderbird, my dream was catching a big bass and owning a 55 bird.(still looking for the big bass) While stationed at the Pentagon in 1979 I found my dream car in a tobacco barn in Maryland, 1955 Thunderbird, Torch Red, 3 speed, hard top, $7,000 and she was mine. Unfortunately my son occured a serious medical condition and I had to sell “My Baby” to meet my commitments. Now 31 years later, I found my new love in my 2005 Thunderbird, midnight black 50th Anniversary with red accent interior. She had 12,000 miles when I got her off the transport truck, I had her shipped in from Oakland California (I live in South Carolina) Again, thanks for allowing me to be a member of you great web site. I remember the scene so clearly. I was nine years old when I first saw a black 1956 Thunderbird. It was love at first sight. I vowed to one day own a two seat Thunderbird, so I felt betrayed when Ford changed the Thunderbird to four seats in 1958. For years I wanted--no yearned and longed for--a two seat T-Bird. Finally, after a 46 year wait, Ford reintroduced the two seat Thunderbird. I hurried to my local Ford dealer with deposit in hand. After what seemed like an indeterminable wait, I finally realized my childhood dream when I bought my 2002 Torch Red baby.
Welcome to TBN!

Re: My Thunderbird's
I have belonged to several car clubs and used to or 3 web sites, but this one has the best group I have seen. We are a dying breed who's life was greatly impacted by the automobile and for reasons other than transportation. T bird represents a time when a car was a statement of your personality and style.

Now don't be complimenting this group too much, there are a bunch of
Looney Toons that are a little odd, and crazy, here..... AND I AM PROUD TO SAY I AM ONE OF THEM,,,,, Bunny Lou

Re: My Thunderbird's
Congrats on your Bird. I have two black ones. One is a 2002 with the red and black interior. I just bought it this past summer. It has 31K on it now. I added wire wheels with the spinners that look so similar to the Kelsey Hayes type from the 50's. Unfortunately I have too many cars and I am going to sell the 03. I too love the forum and have made some great friends here in Dallas. I look forward to your posts and hearing about your adventures.

Re: My Thunderbird's
What a great story, Dave, welcome! I've read of barn finds before, but never actually spoken to anyone about them. How in the world did you happen upon your first bird?Life without passion is no life at all.
