    Re: Experience With Auto Transporters

I've used Dependable Auto Shippers (DAS) on 3 occassions since 2001. I shipped a 2000 VW Eurovan from Marietta, Georgia to Las Vegas; and also a 2004 Lincoln Navigator from Houston, Texas to Las Vegas. Both occassions went well.

In 2008, I bought my 2005 Thunderbird which was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I immediately contacted DAS but was disappointed that time as they were having a hard time getting a complete truck load from that area coming this far west. So after more than 2 weeks of waiting for them to pick it up to put on a truck, I finally told them to forget about it and I flew out and drove the car home.

I also sold a 1969 VW Beetle in 2008 on eBay. The guy who bought it asked if I had any recommendations. I said I had used DAS and had good experiences with them overall so he used them too. The car was transported to Pennsylvania with no problems.

I would use a closed carrier...we had one transport our Tbird from Houston to Florida. Specify the top. Batteries DO leak!

If you are interested in paying for someone to drive it there, let me know!

We have used both Horseless Carriage and Reliable Carriers. Both are covered truck transport. We found both excellent. They love your car(s) almost as much as you do.
