TELL THE LAWYERS IT IS ONLY WORTH ABOUT $16,000 AND KEEP IT.
Good advise. Furnish the lawyer some auction figures. They have been pretty low lately. Good luck. I haven't gone through a divorce personally, but I have in a way with my best friend from HS - he has been through four. Trust me there are better times ahead.

We have had two small dents in our 04 removed by a Paintless Dent removal process. I was amazed. There is no way I can find evidence of the dent. I think it cost us about $70 dollars per dent.
Be real, you'll never get 26K for it with a dent in it and the wrong wheels. In this economy and this time of year I think you would be lucky to get 22K for it, if that. Put it on Ebay and put a 26K reserve on it and see what you can get, it'll only cost you about $25.00 bucks. Or try craigslist.com, it's free. Good Luck!
Same message with the respect due a fellow TBN'er:
With the economy and being winter $26K might be just a tad optimistic. To get the best possible price it would probably be worth seeing if a paintless dent repair shop can eliminate the dent you have so it looks mint and since it is a cashmere it might be worth the $100. or so to have the original 16 spoke wheels put back on the car. You could always put the car on ebay with a $26K reserve so as to test the waters. If you reserve is not met then the expense would only be $25.00. Good Luck!

Gotta love that American Ride

Sorry but you don't tell the lawyers they tell you. As far as value I would
try to use the auction results in lieu of say Kelly Blue Book. The 05's did okay
last week at Mecum the 02's took a beating.

I guess that would depend on the lawyer and how much he's making.
I lovelovelove my lawyers... they've been really good to me, even after everything was settled 6 years ago. They listened to everything I had to say/suggest.
but I digress, as usual....sorry
Sorry to hear about your troubles. Divorce is never easy - anyone that says it is, didn't have much emotion invested in their marraige. I hope things get better for you really soon. The holidays are a tough time to be dealing with this (take it from someone that knows).
As foar as the T-bird goes sounds like it depends on whether you want to keep it or sell it as part of the divorce proceedings. If you want to keep it then you want it valued as low as possible so you will have to give up less for her part of the equity in it. If you are going to have to sell it anyway then you'll want it to be worth the most it can be.
I just hope whichever way it has to go for you, that you get the best deal possible.
Bill (Lonestar),
Perfect! It is obvious that Chris didn't need anymore negativity than he is already dealing with.
There are so many people on this site that never seemed to get the lesson growing up concerning ..... "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all." We see it all the time around here concerning everything from mods to personal situations. It is just a crying shame.
