Not sure if you are familiar with 'car wrapping'.
It's a technique they usually use to turn cars into driving ads for companies. In Europe they also use this to recolor cars without painting.
It's very popular to have a matted black Porsche or a matted metallic Red Ferrari etc.

Here is another one done in car wrapping for all you chrome lovers out there.
You can have a chromed T-Bird before the new year starts

I have seen this before but not up close. If I remember the one I saw had a pattern as
you stated an advertisement. Looking at these cars you can't see any seams just perfect. I see the car being buffed that I don't understand. At any rate WOW! they
would without a doubt turn some heads.

A car like that would be virtually blinding on a bright sunny day. I was behind a pick-up once that had the mirror finish on the back window of a bed cap and the sun was behind me, the reflection from that window was so blinding, I had to pull over. It was like looking directly into the sun. Leroy

        Frits,
Wonder how this material stands-up over time. Wish I could read some of the comments, but I had a hard time with foreign languages. Only had a couple of years of French.

Here is some info on the durability Claude

Great advantage is you can completely change the color of your car for a certain period. When you want/need to sell you just have it removed and the original paint is still there, unharmed by surface scratching or sunlight.

That's one for Roger. I really like it, but in the summer, it'll blind oncoming drivers.

A friend of mine won a Dodge Neon from the WB tv show Gilmore Girls. The Neon had this stuff on it, she was supposed to leave it on the car for free advertisement for one year...however she kept it on for over FIVE YEARS (she said she was able to find her car easier at the mall. ) .
It never faded, and when it was removed, all the car needed was a good buffing and VOILA! It was like driving a new car.
