Monty,
Looks great! I think you made the best choice considering the car color, type of wheel, finish (chrome) of the wheel although I think it would look equally good with the machined finish wheels and quite a few other car colors. I admit, I am partial to the silver ones with red my second choice - but only certain color cars.
Ever since I painted the T-Bird logo on my wheel covers turquoise and ended up with extra paint I've thought about painting the calipers the same (turquoise) color. Think it would be too much?

Gary, You asked for an opinion so "too much".

I agree turquoise would be too much. I think the silver looks best but for now I'll stay with my "understated" and almost invisible black. I think the red, although I like it, makes a much different statement, high performance sports car vs. elegant roadster. My wife wants the roadster and the kid in me wants the sports car but I have to agree with her.

I definitely would not go with the VMG. The calipers (covers) are going to look weird with such a light, unusual body color. Body color matching only works on a few colors in my opinion MOSTLY the darker body colors such as black (although red and silver calipers look great; possibly the bronze ones), merlot, torch red, and MSG (alternatives would be silver, red and black).Only a few lighter body colors like silver and bronze (note these are not light TBird only retro colors) would look good with body colored caliper covers. To color the calipers (covers) with a light retro Tbird only color like VMG is just not going to make it look like a serious car and the brake dust is going to be a problem. However, if you want the car to be personalized, installing VMG caliper covers or painting them that color will certainly do that. Some body colors like my MSB might look good with body colored calipers. I just can't picture it so I would probably go with silver covers.
Leroy: Clearly you are not a fan of the covers, so why so you keep commenting on this thread? Try to understand that the idea of the covers is to dress up the calipers with the Tbird wing and script. Calaipers are pretty ugly, even when painted, (which is an improvement). These really dress them up and make the wheels stand out.
MintTbird: If you buy them and have them powder coated, you will not get the logo and script in seperate color. They are outlined in silver on mine. Try contacting the company and see if they will paint them the color you want.
