    Re: Brake Caliper Covers

I think Thunderbhird blue would look great on your car Spence. I'll bet they ave them or can paint them in that color.

Joe: It is a really easy install. Taking off the wheels was the hardest part.

I think black may get lost in the darkness of the wheel well. Red or another color stands out. Blue for a blue car, matching the car color is a good alternative, IMHO.

I painted mine black and they do get lost. Silver may do the same thing but to a lesser degree.

David, I would love to see a photo your whole car showing both wheels with the new covers.

It is especially easy, if you pay someone else to do it.

In that case, knowing David, I'd say the hardest part was handing the guy a 20 dollar bill.

                  Seriously, they look good, David.

                    Re: Brake Caliper Covers

I finally got mine installed. Silver on my cashmere bird. I love them but were a pain on the 16 spoke wheels. My Ford dealer installed them for 30.00 total. Had to get wheel spacers to make them fit on 16 spoke wheels.

                      Monty,
You know what the content of this post is going to be. The big question. When can we see some pictures?

Promise to get them in the next couple days, also the spacer size.

Ever since I painted the T-Bird logo on my wheel covers turquoise and ended up with extra paint I've thought about painting the calipers the same (turquoise) color. Think it would be too much?

I think alot depends on what wheels you have. My calipers were painted red when I bought the car. The original owner had done it. With the 16 spoke wheels, I believe it's hard to notice, as I've had very few people comment about them. But with the 7 spoke wheels, I believe they show up better. Is the idea of these covers to hide rust? Or to keep them from rusting or is it just another gimic? Leroy

I think the turquoise would look great but what you have to think about is will the paint hold up under the extreme heat from the brakes...
