Does the caliper covers cut down on the amount of brake dust accumulation on the wheels?

I don't see how they would or could, they're just decorative covers. I don't think they serve any other purpose. I'm sure there are some that will disagree, lets hear it. Leroy

I will be the first one to tell you if I have any problems with spacers or anything else. All of this is a learning experience. Ford Motor Co. didn't think there was a problem but if one arises you will hear it from me first..

I doubt they will cut down dust. In this case, Leroy is probably correct.

@ Sandman: It took 2 days: Approximately and hour and half per Caliber for first coat: 3 coats total. Then the Bird sat on the rack for 24+ hours without rims to allow to dry with shop fans overnight.

@ Jim: My mechanic would not & refused to install spacers.

@ Leroy: Yes, high temp enamel paint from American Muscle. Don't know about exact match: I have a Platinum Sliver top (I thought yours was a MSG); Neiman Marcus rims; and do not have exhaust tips.

@ Tbird05cel: I have noticed no difference in the very marginal amount of brake dust: Ceramic solved that problem (at least for the Raven) for the most part a couple of years ago.

Painted my calipers black last summer. One coat with the best stuff, 24 hours on the rack to dry. Very subtle mod because of the 05 wheels, but I know its there and very happy with the result.

@ Sandman - No, The GT and I had a nasty break-up nearly 3 years ago involving driving rain, a pimped out Lexus LS400 hoopty with no brake lights and a jersey wall.
