What Would You Bid on at Mecum if.......

What five cars would you bid on at Mecum Kissimmee Florida auction on January 26th if someone gave you $50,000 with the stipulation you had to bid to win? (You can't bring home anything you have left from the $50,000) I realize that $50,000 would likely not buy any of my picks but I could sure have a fun day of bidding.

First would be: 1948 Mercury Saturn Custom Bob Hope Special

Second would be:1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Hardtop

Third would be: 2002 Jaguar XKR Coupe

Fourth would be: 1953 Corvette Roadster

Fifth would be:2003 James Bond Edition

Ron, Your are correct but the last two on my list don't interest me that much and can be had for much less then the 50k.

I don't think 50K is enough to win any of those picks except the Tbird and maybe the 58 Caddy. If I remeber right, I think that top on the Caddy is stainless steel. Leroy

Second would be: 2003 James Bond Edition

Third would be: 2002 Jaguar XKR Coupe

Fourth would be: 1948 Mercury Saturn Custom Bob Hope Special

Fifth would be: 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Brougham Hardtop

That 1958 Eldorado is the same one that did not sell last year at Mecum in Monterey,Calf.

Also, that Vette was the same one that did not sell last year at Mecum in Monterey. High bid was $170K and did not meet reserve. Like I said,you better bring more than the $50K to play.

I agree that $50K wouldn't be enough $$$...but if someone gave me the 50K, I could at least go and try and be one of the big boys!

The list is weak......the only thing I would bid on (50K+) is a
1970 Buick GSX Stage 1 in Saturn Yellow.
