  • Finally, new tires!

After much thought, and a lot of helpful input from forum members, I finally got some new tires. My old ones were now nearly 7 years old and the pictures of the exploded tire sealed the deal. Since everyone was pleased with these, I was originally going to go with Michelin Pilot a/s plus, then was swayed to the Conti extreme contact dws. So I made the obvious choice and got Bridgestone Turanza Serenty in the same size as the original! I do a lot of hwy travel and quiet, comfort and wet traction were my parameters, as well as long wear. I just put 500 miles on them and couldn't be happier with them. Thanks again to all for their input.

I found a set of original 03 thunderbird chrome rims and tires for sale. The rims and tires were pulled off a brand new thunderbird in 03 and put back in the box for storage till now. Tires have no miles or cracking and rims are in perfect condition. What should one pay for all 4 tires, rims with center caps and lug nuts?

Ennui isn't required. I had previously asked questions about the Michelin and related tires. I wanted to share what I had decided to do. Why I chose to do so was a personal consideration, not one asking for consensus or congratulation. Perhaps at some time a member might wish to consider a tire for the reasons I mentioned, does this mean they shouldn't mention it for fear of rolling eyes, or the like? The above weren't warranted, or necessary responses -and hardly positive, whether I am a new member or not.
It's been said before by others here, it's worth repeating: If one wishes to make a mod, make a bid for safety, have chrome, change the interior, etc., they have every right to do what pleases them; it's their money, their car.

Richard....Glad you found tires that you're happy with.

Randy.... Just pay what you feel the wheels are worth. The tires are too old to trust even if they appear to be perfect.

Hi Randy, I agree. Just pay for the wheels. I wouldn't trust the tires.

??? It looks to me like posts 3 & 4 are responses to post 2. I doesn't look to me that anyone commented on your choice of tires. Glad you found tires you're happy with!

Thanks for all the input! $400 sounds likes a fair price.
