    Re: Installing Top Lift.

Look for a post on this subject by ge0rge and look at my album. George's idea was to use 3 bicycle straps which work perfectly and do not mar the top or cause any deformation of the rubber seals around the top.

My addition was a 1" square hollow steel bar with holes drilled in it to just fit the rear top pins. they rest on the cross pin so the bar does not ride up on to the rubber seals. This just adds another layer of support for the top and I have used it often.

I first remove the top with the straps and when it is airborne, I put the bar on underneath. With that done, I continue to raise it up to the ceiling where it hangs in total safety.

My next addition will be a cover for the top which allows me to put on the top part of the cover, then the straps, then lift the top and put on the bar, followed by closing up the underside of the top using Velcro to fix the underside cover.
