    Re: Yellow 2004 Bird?

To be certain, always check the VIN stamped into the dash (left front corner) with the VIN on the data plate/sticker. When cars are repaired in body shops, if not mistaking, replacement tags can be ordered from Ford with proof of ownership. I was told this once at a Ford Deelership when I had a Lincoln repaired and the door with the sticker on it was totalled.

How about the possibilty of some connections at factory during build. I have never seen a color change that couldn't be detected. Be easier to put 04 interior in 05 car. Really is interesting subject

Looked at it on the site. The seats are pretty rough looking.

One thing for sure, it's not an 02, 03+ engine & 04 interior trim. Spectacular paint job though, at least from the pictures. I would like to crawl underneath to see the undercarriage.

Guys, it's quite easy to figure out...Take a look at the paint code (FX)... it's the code for an '04 Merlot. The car is an '04 that definitely was repainted. Also look closely at the edges of the door sticker and you'll see some paint build up on the edges of the sticker.

                Dear rws277,

The car was repainted at great expense, as the previous owner wanted Yellow.

Makes me wonder why a Lexus Dealer would have a car that
was not an 'original' on their lot, especially a total
                  repaint.

I went into eBay and asked the dealer. Here is my questions and their reply.

                    Dear speedwaylexus,

How did this Thunderbird become Yellow? The door sticker you are displaying has the exterior color code as FX this is not the color code for the Inca Gold (yellow)you are showing. You should also know that the Inca Gold(yellow) was only offered on the 2005 Thunderbird.
To be the car you are showing this Thunderbird was repainted, why?
                    Thanks,

This car was indeed Merlot when new. The client who had this car, had it repainted as they wanted a Yellow Thunderbird. The paint looks and feels factory, as they spent a lot of money to achieve the desired look. This car is flawless, and would never be for sale at my dealership unless it was perfect.

I disagree. I have an Inca Gold, and the color of that car is exactly the same as my car.

                        Phil -
I respect your opinion, but I would like to hear from others of the 82 people who have an Inca Gold vehicle. The one closest to me (which has been in several of my cruises) is definitely more subdued, more pastel, softer yellow.
C'mon Keith, lets have your take on this.

He should've bought an '02. Would have saved himself lots of $$ and effort.
