  • Interesting place in SC

I ran across this link from one of our Early Ford V8 members and thought I'd pass it on for anyone down South that may want to tour there:

Frank and Mike from American Pickers would have a field day there.

I have a couple things that would fit right in on this station. A gas pump and an oil pumping tank.

A friend of mine has the exact same service station building, but it was never a Texaco. Most of it's life it was Gulf but in the early 30's was Sunoco. Was this originally a Texaco? I remember many Texaco's in Ohio built in the 20's and 30's but not this design.

Funny this thread came up. I got the attached in the mail yesterday from Danbury Mint. Lots of paper in the envelope that required the usual search and destroy to find the price, $169 + the ubiquitous $15 shipping and service, or 5 easy monthly payments of $36.80. BTW, I am not marketing this, just passing on as a point of interest.

I don't know if this is an original Texaco station, but generally, when someone restores these old buildings they want to keep/or make them as close to original as the day it was built. It adds value

Not to highjack this thread, but here is a site that has these old stations located all over the USA. Also has other interesting items.

Saffron I had his/her picture made at the only station shown in Mississippi.

Charlie, That's not a hijack, its very interesting. Possibly, if these are still standing in those locations, members around these areas would be interested in getting a picture of their TBirds in front of them-Just a thought:)
