    Re: pcm problem

Is "coastal Ford Only wreckers" the name of a legitimate source for parts? I googled that name and came up with a zillion junk yards. This is not what we need on TBN.

Anyone contact Rick Thomas about PCM -- he's had a lot of T-Bird parts over the years!?

        Re: pcm problem

Ford customer service promised me a call from a supervisor by 5:00 this afternoon. I called them at 4 since I had not heard from anybody and once again was told that I would be receiving a call which would be a three way between me, the dealer who has my car and a customer service representative from ford. Needless to say it is now 6:16, customer service is closed and I have heard from no one. My patience is done. I guess tomorrow is a new day in the saga of the PCM and my Thunderbird.

Try www.autowrecking.com. They are selling various parts for a white 03 on eBay that it looks like they are parting out. I looked at their web site and they do not list a PCM available but that may just mean they have not pulled it out yet. They have multiple locations in Washington/Oregon area

                  Re: pcm problem

Absolutely nothing, after going through second level of Ford customer service, I was told that the vendor building the computer still has no ship date because the pcm has not been approved by their engineers. Ford corporate refuses to authorize a loaner car and the local dealer who has my car has offered to lower the rental rate from $35 a day to $19.99 a day. BIG DEAL. I now have EPA involved since the extended warranty is an EPA warranty. The saga goes on and I still do not have my primary mode of transportation. I am up for any other ideas anyone has?

                      Re: pcm problem

There is not a pcm for the T-bird or the Lincoln LS anywhere in this vast country of ours. Ford Customer Service is horrible and I will no longer be a Ford man.

                        Re: pcm problem

Here is a reason people get turned off on our cars and receive bad reviews such as CR.The T-Bird was never really pushed by Ford so it has become a forgotten part to Ford.It was a high priced vehicle for the time it was built but lacked a couple of small extra features found in the larger models and there cousin models( swinging sunvisors, self dimming mirror, pushbutton outside door openers, etc.) Now parts are becoming unattainable or slow due to production limits.I guess I was lucky when my PCM went two yrs ago as they had it in less than a week and they gave me a free rental. But I do have to say when people look at the vehicle they all smile .

                            Re: pcm problem

Doesn't the Lincoln LS use the same PCM?

There are plenty of LS's on the road.

As for Ford not pushing the TBird, respectfully, I disagree. Every auto enthusiast car magazine had pictures and articles about the new TBird.

If you went to an autoshow back then, or walked into a Ford dealership, you couldn't help but stub your toe against a TBird.

                            TV exposure?

Not much, maybe one commercial, but if you were Ford, where would you put your marketing dollars? Explorer or TBird? TownCar or LS?

Didn't see too many LS commercials either.

                            (See any Corvette commercials lately?)

I dont know if John at speartech can help. But at this point its worth a try. You can call and see if he can repair your PCM. When I put the ZO6 LS7 in my 1932 ford truck he was the guy. He reworked my harness & reprogramed my PCM. He may be someone that could help. Give him a call, you can tell him Speedy said he might be able to help.
