Re: Radio Fit Question
The Connector pin outs from Ford show them to be the same. Place where I want to purchase the radio just says their comuter tells them it will not work. My Ford dealer parts guy doe not see why it would not work. He did tell me that the radio for the 02 is discontinued and no longer avaliable and he has no replament for it. I was hoping to find out what is actually diffrent or if anyone has replace their 02 radio with a newer model.

Re: Radio Fit Question
Donn, Won't fit. There are even two different ones for the 02 Birds and you have to find the correct one. I just tried for a couple months and couldn't find one for my 02.
Sent mine out and had it rebuilt. Check this link.

Re: Radio Fit Question
Guys and Gals,
I could not find a reason that the 03 radio would not fit my 02 bird. Every reason I was given, even from the Ford dealer did not hold up after digging in to it or just did not make sence to me. So I purchased the 03 radio and put it in my 02. Plug & Play! It works just fine. $90 from a wounded bird. Go Green!!! Recycle!!!!
02 radio = 1W6F-18C815-BF avaliable for parts
03 radio = 3W6T-18C815-AA In my 02 Bird!

Re: Radio Fit Question
I have not looked into it. I came across a lot of adaptors that connect to the radio to connect to the I-pod but I have no intretst because I don't owne one. I have been thinking about it though. Sounds like a much better way to pay music than CD's. Right now I am looking at speaker replacments. Lots of information here and by suppliers on that.
Let me know if you find anything out there to connect.
Oley
