Trunk Luggage Rack -- by SURCO

Anyone here investigated/purchased a trunk luggage rack made by SURCO INC of Los Angeles for the 02-05 Thunderbirds?

It was briefly offered on Thunderbird Concepts (TBC). I purchased one and upon receipt am pleased with it. Haven't had a chance to use it yet, but it seems to be a good design--good rubber foot-pads for the feet and nice stainless steel finish. I have installed it and am happy with the clearance where it attaches to the trunk--no indication of damaging the trunk lid. Doesn't have the same overall appearance as does the TBC but it's half the cost. I just want one for carrying the extra "stuff" anyhow-- don't plan to have it on except for that purpose.

Any comments/feedback ? ? ? ?

I bought one last year from autoanything. I put it on to make sure it fit well, and took it off. I'm not one who thinks it's an attractive modification; just utilitarian. I haven't needed to use it yet, even an eight-day trip was accommodated by the trunk. It looks strong and well-designed, and cost less than half of others on the market. I posted photos here in an earlier thread.

I purchased a used luggage rack -- by SURCO, from another TBN member last year. It will only be on the car when needed. I don't like to accessorize the car any more than it already is. I found this luggage rack well-constructed, well designed, and it fits the trunk very well.
