As a matter of fact, I bought the entire Jaguar 3.9/4.0 V8 engine.
And, if the truth be known,it came wrapped in an old Jaguar.
Well, not real old.
A 2001.
Returning from Thunder Zoo, I realized that I was not looking forward to taking my scheduled 4 & 5000 mile trips this summer, in my TBird.
With all due respect, these are among the worst car seats that I have ever owned and the lumbar adjustment is a joke.
Don't get me wrong. I love this car.
But my back is a mess and needs coddling.
My Bird will fulfill it's job of Official Lust Machine and local transporter.
But I won't be driving more than maybe 300 miles at a time in it. That's about all my back would take.
So, I looked around for a used, reasonably priced car to fulfill just that function.......long distance cruiser.
I have no doubt that the best bargains in the world can be had in the Grand Marque/Crown Vic...but they are a bit too big. I hate herding a car.
And of course it had to have some degree of sex. I wouldn't own my Bird if I didn't believe that.
Funny thing.........the dealer who sold me the car, Century Motors of Pompano Beach (http://www.floridacars1.com/web/home) had two Retro Birds also......said that he didn't
think he had ever seen a Retro bird that didn't need at least 1 cop, but had never seen a Jag that ever needed one......he put the entire blame on the water leakage of the Ford Cover........
So, he will be delivering the car on a flatbed over here this week.
I previously owned a 93 XJ6 which looked very similar to the 2001 XJ8 I'm getting. Same white Exterior/tan interior.
