  • Soft Top Lubricant

Does anyone periodically lube the mechanism for their soft top.I'm not having any problems just thought of it as preventive maintenance.

    Thanks

I use WD40 and it works well. I also have a marine grade spray but forget the brand name.
The right side hangs up and sqeeeks every son often. It goes away when sprayed.

WD 40 is not a lubricant. Will dry/evaporate in a short period of time but will help loosen up the joints so they can be lubricated.

              Actually WD40 IS a lubricant.

Here is a list of things that they know work.......
              Helps lubricate fretboard on guitars

Use to lubricate hockey goals and keep them from rusting

Lubricate wheels of paper shredders, to prevent paper from jamming

Lubricate aluminum blind stoppers to prevent blinds from sticking

Lubricate wheels on kitchen bake center

Lubricate snap swivels on dog runs

Lubricate guide rollers on digger derrick

Use to lubricate hockey goals and keep them from rusting

Helps lubricate chinstrap snaps on football helmets

Lubricate sections of telescoping golf ball retrievers

This list is from the WD40 Internet site

              http://www.wd40.com/

Note- it is not the lubricant that Lithium is......it is a light lubricant.
