Re: Found a first class battery store!

I think where you may be saving at the battery stores is on the installation. My Ford Service replaced battery was $116.50 for parts (including the disposal charge). Installation was $70--which I think probably comes from a minimum labor charge--so that the total was $186.50.

Most batteries today short between cells with no warning. Many times for me everyything would work but not enough juice to start. I don't know if mine is original or not but will check when the " war department" gets home

Well this battery theme is getting contagious, I had to replace mine today (original battery). So it was off to the Ford store, and luckily it was in stock and not sitting on the shelf for very long at all.

As already said in previous posts, better to discover this problem at home, rather than on the road.

My recent trunk mod just became a little more expensive today !

We had ours done at a Ford dealer before went to Dearborn last summer. It died this winter took it back to a different Ford dealer and it was replaced at no charge.

Greetings, I had my battery replaced last year at Jones Ford and the total cost was about $116.00. No extra labor to in stall it. It sounds like some Ford dealers are riping others off.

I decided to stop taking a chance on my old battery and had it replaced with another Motorcraft battery at my local Ford dealer. The new one cost $109 with no other charges. My bird was built on 9/11/01 the day of the World Trade Center attack. That made the battery around Ten years and eight months old. It was working fine but the indicator was reading red and I didn,t want to take a chance and having to be towed. The mechanic did not hook up the bird to an alternate power source while exchanging it and I only lost the preset radio settings. Now I am ready to go another ten years driving a car that still peaks the interest of even the guys working at the Ford garage.
