  • extended service program

I just bought an 04 TBIRD and have until Saturday to accept or decline the extended service program. Rather pricey.....believe it was around 800 dollars or so. Car has 36,000 miles on it..............what do you think I should do, buy it or decline it?

I will second that. There are plans and there are plans. Lou will give you the best price based on what your needs are and will treat you fair.

          Re: extended service program

Most people seem to buy them. I have never ever spend a dime on any kind of extended plan and probably never will. Every time you buy something they want to sell you an extend service plan. There's a lot of things they won't cover and I would rather keep the money in my pocket. I also do most all my own work so that helps. Guess I have been lucky but have never looked back and had a situation where I could have used it. And it would have to be a Ford plan if I were to buy one.

            Hi Bill:

I am a Finance Manager at a Chicago area FORD dealership. I've been doing this for about 10 years. The only way I can help you on the deal you've been offered is to have more details. Frankly, I'm a little suspicious of the plan partly because of the price and I can tell you why when you contact me.

Over the last 18+ months I sold about 95 FORD ESP service plans to TBN members. Average saving is about $700. If you search this site you will see many recommendations on my behalf.

My office number is 630-925-7590. I am off today, but will be there on Saturday and Monday... If you want to reach me today because of the deadline you've been given send me an e-mail from this site with your phone number and I'll call you from my cell.

              Re: extended service program

I am one of those members who recently purchased from Lou. I felt comfortable before I even made the call due to the MANY (and WELL deserved) posts on this website. The process was easy and he will find the best plan that fits your needs.

Lou offers a great deal on the ESP and will help you find the right plan for your car. The whole process took only about five minutes over the phone. I recommend you call Lou as soon as possible.

I called Lou after receiving feedback from several of you on this site......now in possession of a 3 year, 36,000 mile ESP. Went with the premium care and Lou made the entire process easy and informative.
Thank you to Lou and the rest of you for your help with this matter!

I appreciate that, it really is quite easy when someone calls me. BTW, I've been tracking the average savings our TBN members realize when the buy the ESP from me. TBN members are averaging $740 under suggested retail and nearly $1,000 under what many dealers are asking for if they call me.

In a few weeks I will be addressing the 2002 TBird owners. The hard deadline to get an ESP for any 2002 model is approaching..

                    Thanks again,

                    Lou

WOW! Lou is GREAT! I got my quote from Ford ESP Direct for the 5 year 60k mile $50 deduct. I just got off the phone with Lou and I purchased through him for close to $400 less! What a great deal and I am a Happy Camper!

                        Lou:

The in-service date for my car is approaching ten years. Is my understanding correct that ten years from the in-service date is the deadline for being eligible for the ESP plan?

That is corect and it s a hard deadline. Go past the 10 years and nothing can be done.

                              Note to All:

Thanks for all the PM's and calls.

The best way to reach me with your questions and/or to purchase an ESP is to call me at my office. Call anytime, but the best is on Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. Please avoid Saturday calls, very busy then.
