    Re: Transporting hard top

And some peopleare not up to putting the top on.
It might be hard for some to understand....but holding an 80 pound top out away from your body is not easy for the elders among us.
Some people can carry their share, 40 pounds, up close to their body but cannot hold it out away from their body, which you must do to place the top on the car or take it off.

    Invoice $38,457 - Sold new 9/15/2003
One of twenty two built like this
She was a good one. Sold 12/30/2014.
Replaced with 2013 Infiniti G37 Coupe.
A lot better car and even more exclusive, but doesn't have the Cachet the Thunderbird had. Adios, mi Amigo.

I think its going on the car. The post about the porthole settled it for me. I do like the look with the top on.

Charley looks so very distinguished in his picture, that he just had to be a psychologist, and after this thread, he proved it.

There's Thunderbirds in Iron Mountain? It must have the AWD option!
Thats why we don't bring ours to Harbor Springs.

                        Re: Transporting hard top

Personally, I would have put it upside down and floated it in the pool I was going to take to the new house. I mean comeon, how much water could splash inside it, it was only 2 miles :-)
