  • Wheels.......a question

I was told that my 2003 DSB for sale- is more 'desirable' without the Chip Foose rims/wheels and with the stock wheels on the car.

I am looking to see the consensus on this board.

Does it make sense to swap my 2005 7 spoke wheels off of that car and put them on my 2003?

For your information - I plan on keeping my Red 2005 (15k miles) and sell my 2003 DSB (71k) miles.

    All opinions welcome!

Keep the wheels you like best!
The wheels will not have much effect on the value of a car with 71K on it.

Aftermarket wheels and tires pretty much all of the time decrease the resale value so you are better off with the stock wheels. Wheels or rims are a personal choice. Most used car buyers want the car stock in OEM trim.

IMO, Kat, who cares? It's your car...do what you want. If you want the '05 to have the stock wheels, sell the '03 with the Foose wheels. At the end of the day, the only person you need to please is you.

You have to realize that mods that are to your taste won't necessarily be what someone else wants. You almost certainly won't get any extra money for them.
I agree, if you want you car to appeal to the greatest number of potential buyers then put the stock wheels back on. If you don't ever plan to sell the car then go crazy.

I suggest you find a wheel that expresses your personality and gives some personality to the car. Check out the gallery. There are a lot of really nice aftermarket wheels shown. So, store your stock wheels in the attic and if some one wants to buy your car put your stock wheels back on the car.

This kind of reminds me of the advise you get from a real estate agent that is going to try and sell your house when you have "personalized" some rooms. They want them redone so the house will have a broader appeal and expand the number of potential buyers.

                          Re: Wheels.......a question

Stock wheels are preferable unless they are not in a good shape. Most buyers prefer having the original components in good state. If not, the buyer will decide what he will prefer for this beauty! For my case, I have installed the premium stock wheels but I have in stock 6 Canadian wheels including the center caps in very good shape. These were the wheels that were sold in Canada. So, my car could have a USA or Canadian look if I want.
My premium wheels are looking as brand new also.
