I paid $79 for my Maxxim a couple years ago. If I'd known I was going to buy Baby Blue I'd have bought two

I never used the spare and I don't see using it in the future. If I ever had a problem I would call AAA and have them change it.

Just bought a new spare from Discount for the IG...original was still in the trunk - never used (made in 2004).
          Stock size is 185 60 17...new tire is 135 80 17.

Here's the comparison between the two tire sizes:

It fits in the trunk? How much was it?

It's on order, but it will fit in the trunk - as you can see from the numbers, they are all incrementally smaller than the original. It was $88...they also suggested another one which would have been about .75 inches taller...I think it was from Firestone, but it was $100 more. It's only a spare...don't wanna break the bank just to get myself back on the road again.

                  Jim,
                  135/80R17 on original rim, right?

THIS MAKES PROBABLY NO SENSE AT ALL BUT
found what seems like a very good deal on a set of 7 spokes with tires. Understand a 50 series on an original wheel will fit in the trunk snugly but completely. Anyone else interested in one wheel?
tires are 225x50x17 so they should all be capable of being spares. let me know as I am thinking of driving 2.5 hours each way to get them.
can throw them in the truck on the way to Florida and drop one off in each state.
Rusty you might be correct. this could be the deal where Navigator kicks my _ _ _ around my ears.

it may fit the well snugly but the cover will not lay flat. My 205 /50R17 is 8.06 inches wide in my trunk had to shave the bumps on the cover almost all the way on the rear bumps
                        A 225/50R17 is 8.8 inches wide
                        figured I needed something here

                          .
If the chrome is good, I would be interested and I'll be in the Clearwater area in Florida a few times in the next few months

Don't know if this is the answer but I've committed to buying a set of '02-'03 chrome wheels on almost new 225x50x17 Falken tires. If enough interest I'll sell the tires and wheels individually.

Won't get them 'til May so PM me if any interest.

Has anybody tried a 205/55/17 using the spare’s original wheel? On a tire calculator, it’s almost same height and about 0.80 inches wider.
