Re: Is your T Bird the color you really wanted?

No my wife and I saw a Blue Tbird in the Ford dealership. We both were impressed and talked about it a lot. When I was lookiing to buy i couldn't find one but found my silver one and love it, but would still like the blue.

Well we were looking for a VMG, 007 or PCR. We are happy with ours. Probably will add one of the other two one day. Right now have too many vehicles. I guess I have to retire and get rid of the work vehicles and make room for more toys.

Yes, we ordered our torch red with all black interior and waited 10 months for it to arrive. Almost a perfect exterior color match to our torch read 1957 with all red interior. They make a great looking (and fast) pair.

Re: Is your T Bird the color you really wanted?

Twenty months ago, when the "retrobird" was on my short list for another car, I didn't care what color or year it was. I found my low-mileage '05 bronze at a good price across the state, and have been delighted with what fate brought me.
Had I been in a position to buy one new, I probably would have chosen merlot. Now I delight in my Bird's exclusivity, one of 27 made with its specs.

Re: Is your T Bird the color you really wanted?

When I got mine. I had driven by a used car lot owened by one of the large ford dealers in the area they had two a red one and a black one. Drove home to get the wife and by the time I got back the red one was gone. So want over came desire and bought the black one. Have been happy with it, but man it's hard to keep clean. I realy went there to get the red one red being my favorite color, but had my wife talked into letting me buy a car and had to seize the opportunity. While not the color I wanted I love it just the same.

Re: Is your T Bird the color you really wanted?

Color was the only difficult choice for me since I was completely smitten with the cars. My first favorite was the PCR both inside and out, maybe due in part to having grown up in California, but the colors are very appealing on their own. Then the Merlot caught my eye for a while. The MSG with saddle interior is beautiful but to me it's more of a Mercedes SL color scheme. Eventually nostalgia won out and the Desert Sky Blue with the black and white interior seemed the closest to my memory of my Uncle Charlie's Tbird in the fifties. If I were to make a complaint about the retro birds it would be the very limited choices of interior color schemes. I have always personally disliked black interiors, so the saddle or the sand are very appealing, but even those are partly black. I'd like to have seen some non black carpeting available. My carpet never looks really clean for long.

Yes, we wanted one just like the concept. And we got just that!

Thunderbird blue was my first choice with full accent. Merlot was my second choice. So, I got my first choice.

Yes. From the moment I say my Merlot beauty, it was the only color for me. The other color I would have given serious thought to trading for would have been the 2006 Dark Cherry that never made it to production. A deep green was also planned, as those of us at Lake Lure learned.

Re: Is your T Bird the color you really wanted?

My search began with what I pictured as the classic color combination from the Fifties...Black with white accented interior. I knew black would require extra attention to keep clean, but I felt that was a sacrifice I would enjoy. I looked nearly everywhere for about six months and nothing in that combo showed up. All along I had reviewed Dot's color pages along with other posted color production numbers. I considered other possibilities and often checked out any "cream-puff" that was nearby. Then, one day a VMG appeared on a used car lot in a neighboring county. I knew the color was not produced in high numbers and this one was well cared for with reasonably low mileage. Plus, it had been sold by a local dealer and the sole owner was local as well. I decided it represented the Fifties era just as well as the Black/white combo. Kinda glad I to get to enjoy the car instead of fretting about keeping it spotless 5 minutes after a bath.

Re: Is your T Bird the color you really wanted?

Larry's desert sky blue with the black and white interior, or the James Bond special were my actual favorite colors, along with Thunderbird Blue.

The guy 2 streets over owns a thunderbird blue, so I wanted something different.

My kids talked me out of the desert sky blue and the vintage mint green. My wife loved the color and interior of the Cashmere.... so Cashmere it was.

I still love the brighter colors...perhaps if I ever buy a 1957 Bird.. it wil be Sapphire Blue.

                          Thanks!

While visiting the National Auto Show when it came to the Seattle Convention Center back in September of 2004, Ford had the 2005 Medium Steel Blue as their "Welcome To the Ford Display". I saw that particular T-Bird knew I just had to have it.

Everytime I go out to the garage I still get a smile on my face. Everytime I park somewhere & turn, look back and I smile. Everytime I get a compliment I smile.

I love the color, I'm still infatuated with this car.

Loved the IY which first appeared in Motor Trend magazine. Albeit when searching the used market back in 2004, I first envisioned a black with a red interior accent. However, when I finally chanced upon a local T-Bird for sale in 2008, it was TB/TB. Nuf said? No, then I aslo acquired a Torch Red on Torch Red with Performance White HT.

I really wanted a white one with black interior, but after months of searching and lots of road test in everything but white, I found a low mileage, garage kept EB with hardtop and full accent interior. This car just jumped out at me, so I bought it and haven't looked back since. Also, like the looks and thumbs ups this car generates, plus as they say, black is faster.
