  • New Headlights

Bought some new headlights off Ebay as the ones on my '02 weren't, well, sparkley. I tell you it was a great improvement! If you are the type of guy who will sit with a toothbrush to sparkle up the grill (like me) then new headlights are the bees knees. Mine cost $150 from someone in South Dakota and were just what I wanted. I took the opportunity to buy some brighter bulbs...Philips and some LED's for the blinkers and now no yellow on the headlights (when they are off) I like the look....ummmm, sparkley.

Taking out and replacing the headlights was really quite easy. It's in the book. The tabs are easy..I used a channel locks.... take of the nut, pull out the two tabs, 'yer done. Easy Peasy.

BTW, I got the old headlights down on the workbench and experimenting with chrome tape for "eyelids"

    I'll let you know.

Sounds like a good deal. My 'Bird is going in for a beauty make-over next month. New top and some minor tweaks. New headlamps (I saw a brand-new pair on eBay for $158.00) would make her look new again!

Hi, What new bulbs did you buy, and how does one go about making a new post without going through a thread?
      Thanks,

Go up to top blue bar see the headings; Home, Forums, Gallery and all the others click on Forums. Then scroll down the words 'General Forums'. Pick forum you wish to start new thread in, CLICK on it. You will now see blue shaded box labeled 'New Thread' Click on it. A blank New Thread box opens and that's all there is to it. Took longer to type this out than it does to just do it.

Hey Tri5Ford....bulbs were 9007's. Did a little research and went with Philips over Silverstars, although I have Silverstars in another car. I can't remember which LED's I bought. Think we may go to Nashville in the middle of June....wanna cruise with us?

Good idea Stu and Gary. Sign up it will be a blast. I think we are well over 50 cars now and expect it to go higher.

                Stu,
Thanks for the answer. Is anything else needed besides the bulbs, or are they a direct replacement?
                Thanks,
                Gary

                  Hey,

A tip for pulling those headlight tabs.

Squirt a little silicon spray down there.
You can pull 'em without vise grips or breaking things.

                  Regards

Can anyone tell me if installing Phillips or Silverstar 9007 bulbs requires anything else, or are they a direct replacement?
                      Thanks,

Would you recomend just replacing the low beams if the cost was too high? Autozone wants $59.95 for one set of 2 bulbs.
