Jersey meeting

Just throwing this out for thought.

Last Saturday, I attended a Merc Marauder gathering in Bridgewater, NJ. Nice turn out (I brought my Galaxie). I didn't stay long (birthday weekend), but from their follow up posts, they seemed to have a good time.

So, once this horrible winter ends (joke!), anyone up for a Jersey gathering?

I figure we pick a spot somewhere east of rt 287, north of rt 78, south of rt 80, and west of the Hudson River. (Hey, it is Jersey!)

I typically do not allow my Cashmere to wander above I-195 as there is no scenery, too much violence, unyielding traffic, a hostile population, and a general malaise that blankets the area.

It's been rumored that T-Birds go north to that area of Joisey...and they are never heard from again. And...it's true! All true!

However, there are at least 3 Cashmeres in Southern Joisey that could offer some advice as to some more decent, civilized areas to visit. There is even a state park along I-195 that could be interesting since it has a railroad museum.

In south Joisey, the Batso Track or Smithville are nice places to visit, and the roads are lightly traveled, 2-lane country roads through the pine barrens with few police.

I could pass the word, unofficially of course, among the Garden State Classic Thunderbird Club, located in South Jersey.

Except for the Joisey shore, you have any scenery better than the NY Skyline from the Hudson River waterfront? Fort Lee National Park? The Palisades cliffs?

Gee.. I was expecting a picture of a Raven bird in front of the Statute of Liberty. That would be worth a drive north.

So.. how about places off of I-195... like Smithville? or the NJ State Park with the trains?
