    Re: Car Pool Car Wash

Have used the automatic wash many times without a hint of a problem. I personally like having the car cleaned in and out, windows cleaned in and out, tires dressed and some smell good, all in about 20 minutes, where as it would take me over an hour to do the same thing and for sure not as good a job. But that's just my opinion.

Call me whatever you wish. I know that it does not make sense..

I've driven my Bird (unintended) through heavy, summer, Florida thunder storms with large drops pounding down (sometimes with some wind) for several minutes. Never a leak. Never any damage.

BUT, I have NEVER run the car through any car wash. Something keeps me back, especially from the type with big contact brushes swirling around on the surface of the car. Even the so-called "no touch, no contact" type scare me. I prefer the gentle touch of my hands and soft cloths to keep it clean. I never use a power polisher or buffer - - too much chance of swirl marks.

And, I shudder at the thoughts of pressure washing under the hood. YIKES!

An automatic car wash will put swirl marks into the clear coat. Moreover, most use recycled water on your car in an effort to save money and boost profits. That is why I have never taken my Thunderbird to a commercial car wash. I only wash it by hand and use a Master Blaster to dry it.
