A small point of clarification, Claude, for my benefit as much as yours. I think you might have inferred some things from my question to you that I neither expressed nor implied. What I asked you in a PM while helping you work out a couple of admin issues was: "Have you considered selling it and maybe getting a different one? (Easy to say, I know.)" I only asked because you seemed distrubed by the prospect of sinking a lot more money into your car. My curiosity was simply whether you had given any consideration toward cutting your losses. Not an unreasonable thing to wonder about someone who's experienced one expensive problem after another with a car. At any rate, I simply asked if you'd considered selling it. I did not suggest that you should sell it. And -- if you meant to imply that I suggested further -- I did not suggest, nor would I, that you should try to "unload" it "on some poor, unsuspecting Buyer." I'm glad we agreee that doing so would not be an option for people of good conscience.

Note to "luvbirdz": the remote worked for 17-months, then just stopped. I only received one remote (and key) with the car. I've tried several times to reprogram the fob; everything goes as per instructions telling me it took the program, but same results.

      .
Where are the instructions to program a remote fob? Will these instructions work for the cheap type that are sold everywhere on Ebay?

Bill see this YouTube video. Should work for most Ford 3 and 4 button remotes.

Bill, I got cheap green fobs for Mint Bird, programmed them per instructions in owners manual and they work great.

Bill, Like Richard said, it's easy to do and it's cheaper to to buy them from Ebay than to buy new batteries.

Here is a link to download your owners manual from an official FORD site it you need one,It has the instructions on how to program the key fobs and all kinds of interesting stuff . I use the one on my desktop more than the one in my trunk

Make sure you get the correct model, I got one that looked similar but didn't work

For what it is worth and that's maybe nothing, my key fob stopped working and the new battery did not help....the battery said he would clean the fob's contact points next week and that would fix it. I'll let you know how that works out.
