Spring has Sprung??

According to various Internet information, Canada's capital city is amongst the coldest in the world (it's just a bit cooler in Mongolia, Finland, Russia and a few other spots).... but the temperatures are soaring right now in Ottawa, especially into this weekend and through next week. So I am thinking that BlingBird will be released from her nest this weekend (a record - never done in March before - lucky I am sitting down)... and to "top" it off, I will finally put the hardtop back on after a 2+ year absence. It's almost too exciting to handle all in one weekend !!

I sure hope the weather people are right !!

In the 20 C here in South Western Ontario just north of Lake Erie. The Bird will be out this weekend and by the way, had it out in February as well.

OK, stop rubbing it in... you know I live in a completely different weather zone despite being in the same province !!! It's probably warmer in Siberia right now, but when it gets this warm in Ottawa in March, it's the wow factor for me !!!

P.S. less than 3 years to retirement, and a trailer is in the works to be Floridian bound !!

Plus 16 in northern ontario and the motor bikes are out. It's about time to pull the bird out and get ready to enjoy a summer of riding.

Top's coming off Sunday.

I've used the car once per week all winter, even if it's just a 10-15 mile ride to keep things lubricated.

Twice I delayed my weekly ride because of chemicals on the road, but just for a day or two.

Down here in the South, you know Spring has sprung when you see and breath the yellow pollen that is everywhere. We need a good rain to wash most of it away.

The TBird came out of the barn where I store it on Wed.
I was alarmed when I saw signs of mice in the trunk, front floor and under the drivers seat, never had that before but it was the first time I did not put bounce sheets in the car.
Now I worried about the convertible top, opened the glove box for the hardtop tool and it was full, that was the nest.
A sigh of relief when the hardtop came off, not a sign of mice anywhere in the convertible top area, everything seems to be working properly and all the nesting materials vacuumed out.
Not sure where they got the green/blue insulation material from the car, still have to check the cabin air filter.
Feels great to be back on the road again.

They are very small signs, maybe you just haven't seen them.

I think this is the first time I've ever had mine out in March. Usually it doesn't come out till mid April or early May. I drove it out to our new beach area here in Portage on Lake Michigan. I'm ready to take the top off anytime. Leroy

Noticed that the hardtop's package tray on both ends can make a rattling type noise when I push up and then suddenly let go.

Maybe this is the cause of my hardtop rattle every now and then.

Test it out next fall.
