Picky point that needs input from owners, particularly if bought Your Tbird NEW.
Re: Picky point that needs input from owners, particularly if bought Your Tbird NEW.
For those whose spindle caps are missing and say the spare hasn't been used. Do remember that if bought used, you don't know if the previous owner ever used the spare well for packing even if they didn't use the spare. It is also easy to flip off and land in the well and roll underneath the spare. Check if you dare.

Hey, thanks for the info, mine is an '04 built in early '04 and I have nothing although it shows the big hexagontal piece in the instruction photos.
Everyone should check their floor underside as mine was almost worn all the way thru by the bolt top. Quick fix, duct tape a piece of plastic on the bottom of the floor for support.
Please post if anyone finds where to get a replacement part.
Drill a hole in a chunk of anything to the right depth.
Leroy I just cut a small piece of plastic and then duct taped it to the bottom of the floor where the bolt top hits it. Should work for now until I find the right part.
My 04 was built 4/28/04, tomarrow she'll be 8 years old. No cap at all on mine. Does anyone have a suggestion on something simple that's easilly available to put on it to prevent any damage? I wonder if since there are so many missing if they were left off at the factory. I'm pretty sure my spare has never been out of the trunk. Leroy

My 02 has a round one that I found laying by the tire. Also the spare has 20# of pressure. Build date 5/02.
Just be aware, David, that your spare is definitely out of date if it hasn't been replaced in the last few years. Those old Firestone spares need to be replaced.

'04 built 01/07/04
Bought new, current mileage 6767
Round
Went out to check. At first I thought it was missing, but once I got my flashlight, I saw it was sitting in the lug hole. I may have placed it there when I replaced the battery and forgot to put it back. Anyway, as long as I was there, I decided to check the air pressure, and it was very low, around 20 pounds. So, glad you posted this Dot.
