      About the same.

Using my LS's on board computer, I have hit 28 plus on stretches.

Have to assume the retro is the same.

Ron, you need to get some Borlas and CAI's on those Birds,
then you will be getting a more respectable 13/15 MPG in the city!

I got 23 to 24. For best mileage, do not use cruise control in the mountains.
Cruise control usually downshifts way too early when going downhill. (I-70)

              John,
That's about what I get in the city (13/15) without the investment in Borlas and CAI. I would not like to go any lower. I get 22/23 HWY. The Tbird gets the lowest gas mileage of any of our vehicles.

Haven't driven any long distant interstate drives but we get 20 mpg tank after tank with no variance what so ever. Our driving is pretty much suburban with several miles between stops. I check with every fill-up and it doesn't vary 1/10 mpg. I have never seen this before.

You may have a problem. My retro and LS do not downshift on their own.

I have never had a car that downshifts on downhill grades while using cruise control.

It's my understanding that, under nornal conditions, if your set speed is being exceeded while going downhill, the cruise control decreases the gas flow to the engine.

13/14 city, 20/21 highway. Being as I bought mine used I have no idea if it has Borlas, how would I be able to tell?

NOBODY has mentioned that regular fuel, 87 octane, runs just fine in our T-Birds! I have run nothing but regular in two 2002 and one 2004 (current PCR) T-Birds that we have owned. Saves lots of $$ at the pump!

I consistently average 27/29 hwy, but in town stop and go knocks it down, especially with a/c on. I use cruise control and keep the speed at 70. The results really depend on if you have a lead foot, use cruise at a sane speed, have hills, have heavy traffic, etc. Pedal to the metal really puts a hit to mpg, as does quick getaways from the light. You plays, you pays.
