  • How do I find our what # my car was on the production line?

We have a 2004 Vintage Mint Green Tbird (purchased last August in Aberdeen, NC) and are wondering how to find out what # it was on the production line of the 612 manufactured. Anyone out there that can help us?

It's probably too time consuming for quickdraw to figure it out. Even if he tried, he can only give a guesstimate, as the day yours was built, probably had several other VMGs on the line, too. The stats don't have the time of day a car was finished.

What Dot said, plus, the VMG wasn't a "numbered" edition, like the PCR, Cashmere, NM, etc., and even the numbered editions weren't built in the order of the number they were assigned. Confusing, isn't it?

I know the original question was about the production number, but there is alot of other info that this great site should be able to offer Bernard as a new member about his new purchase...

Bernard, you need to give your vin number, first of all...

I learned this info about my car in a very short time here and became a contributing member and enjoyed all the knowledge, friendship, get togethers, and other great benefits this site has to offer since...

Mint4us, Go to www.compnine.com and enter your VIN. It will give you a build date, paint codes and list of options for your car. Leroy

Leroy, I entered my VIN number here and found my car build date (June 7, 2005) but also noticed it said body style GT deluxe. I was under the impression I was buying a Premium style. It has the seven spoke chrome wheel and every available option, Homelink, Select shift and heated seats. Could it be that it is not a Premium but still have all the options?

Strongly suggest you all take a look here, http://www.portholeauthority.com

DrG, according to my Ford 2005 booklet your Bronze Bird is a Premium. There is no such thing as a GT of any retro Bird. All the items you listed are not options they are standard equipt. The only options for the 2005 Retro Bird are the following; Removable Top, Select Shift Transmission & the soft boot.

Your Sand interior is a color option called " Light Sand Appearance Package" which is applied to the soft top, steering wheel, gear shift knob,& floor mat edging, leather trimmed seats with black stitching, optional matching soft boot.

DRG - your Bird is an exact copy of mine. Premium. Only difference is I changed out my 7-spokes to the machined not long after I got her because chrome and salt air do not mix well.

Mike and Elle and/or Charley, Thanks so much. I don't know why when I put in the VIN that it says Deluxe trim. Mike, what booklet are you using and didn't you need my VIN to determine this?

Greg, The compnine website is not known for accurately describing the retro. Your description of yours matches the premium package.

Deluxe models did not come with the sand interior - it was a premium interior, nor did they come with a hardtop, nor chrome wheels.

Ford had two "models" of the 05, Deluxe & Premium plus a limited edition Premium model. Deluxe models were the base model, had limited interior choices; only one wheel style, no heated seats, and no hardtop. but one did have a choice between the standard shift and the select shift.

Like Mike mentioned, there was no GT package ever produced for any of the years.
