26k is high ... there is an 03 here 60000 mi asking 16.5 for it ... 10 k diff is a lot ....my thought around 21k tops
Checked Auto Trader last night, seems all the Birds with less than 15,000
miles are in the high $20,000 range. Bird with 60,000 miles price drops like a
rock. The subject Bird in this thread with 8,000 miles actually looks like a good deal. Check it out.
Bought my 02 with 9000 miles on her last fall for $21,000. Added an ESP premium from Lou: 5 years, 60,000 miles for $1,600. Very lucky to find this car within 20 miles of my house too!
All the comments about age should be considered. In addition, COPs on 2002 are the owner's responsibility. On 2003 and up, there is a warranty letter for one set replacement up to 100K miles. Search COPs on the forum.

Frank, you are corect about considering age. Just so there is no misunderstanding, I believe the letter says 10 years or 100,000 miles.
I did, but it only covered the front end items. So I let the Ford dealer fix that and have the rear end items fixed elsewhere for half what the dealer wanted. I am planning on getting another extended warranty at year-end from Lou, who told me that COPS would be covered under his warranty.

Hmmm.... my 2004 with 8800mi will be delivered next week. As my bird has also been parked/sitting for a while, should I also be concerned about the rubber issue (control arms, rods, etc)? Thanks!
Today I bought a 2002 T-Bird, Torch Red with 8700 miles from Bobby Baker of Marietta, Georgia. Anyone who knows Bobby knows I got a car that was well taken care of and looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Looking forward to many more fun miles.
26 K way too high. Check autotrader and cars.com you will find comprable low mile cars more in the 22 k range. I bought mine last year after a year of searching and got an 05 Inca Gold with 12,300 miles for 24K. I shopped for a year but it was worth the wait.

Congrats, Mike! Glad you got a red one like you wanted. Welcome to the world of envy from the other birds that are slower and less photogenic.

I bought the car last week for $24500. While driving it over the weekend my directionals did not return to off. I took it into Ford today and it ended up being the clock spring needed to be replaced....I also had them check it over for any other surprises.......they said the rest of the car was in great shape......$850.00 later I am a happy Bird owner again !!
