L.A., You should be able to find the CD on ebay. Usually comes up there with the owner's manual.

You may also download the "in print" guide from Motorcraftservice's website. They have made it a little more difficult to download though.

Now, you'll need to create a login and password. (we didn't use to have to do that)
so click on the "sign up" button link there and register. You do not have to subscribe to anything.

Then you'll need to wait awhile until the site discovers that you really have a password. (took me an hour today or it may have been that I just needed to reload the pages). It is still free to download the owner's manual and other guides available.
Here's the link to their pages:
      http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdi...d=&kevin=rules

to download, click on >owners guides (left hand column) > select 2005 and Thunderbird > select Quick Reference guide 1st printing.

Re: Thunderbird Removable Top Interactive Guide CD

I had my 05 for a couple days before attempting to take the top off with the help of my wife. I made sure she could lift her half before proceeding to the rear of the car with the top toward the cart for storage. Halfway there, my trusted partner declares that she was dropping it. Keep going, I said. She said I can't. Under minor threats, she held on until the top was placed in the stand. I think I'll ask the neighbor to help me next time.

I knew I couldn't do it back in '05, which is why we got a neighbor to help...strong young guy (20 yrs younger than I am), and when he said, "I don't have a good grip", I threatened to...
well, suffice to say, he still helps us, and knows I'm serious!

It's not that heavy, but rather awkward as the weight pulls you off balance toward the side of the car. So losing your balance is a bigger issue than losing your strength. Judy and I have managed it ourselves over the years, but we've had some close calls.
