Turned 20K Today

Went out for a top down drive today and I knew it would be the 20,000 mile turning point. Glad I had my camera with me, I got this picture of an old gas pump carved out of a tree trunk. It was a gas station then they made it into a resturant and bar called Pumps on 12. It's on Rte 12. It's been closed for years now.

I'm getting close on Moondoggie, Leroy. It'll happen on the TBN-10 trip. Goldi's a few thousand behind, but she'll be adding a bunch between TBN-10 and the Thunder East by Northeast trip. She'll probably catch up to MD then. Not bad for a couple of '05s!

Just hit 20K on my Bird last weekend on an evening cruise with my wife. As a little gift, for 20K trouble free miles, I purchased a new CAI for her. No, not my wife, the other WW beauty in my life.....LOL

Grew up in Michigan City and lived in LaPorte County up until 5 years ago , actually ate dinner at Pumps on 12 a couple of times. It was neat to see the South Shore RR while dining. Kinda like Swingbelly's or Matey's on the old New York Central tracks by the lake.

Great photo Leroy! People who have the gift to carve like what was done in that photo are so blessed & we get to see it, we're kind of lucky too.

Thanks for sharing and showing your Bird as well. 20K is a good start, but you better get going to really enjoy the car.
