  • Engine / motor noise

I have a low, but very noticeable, noise coming from the lower right front area of my '05 engine. It does not seem to be related to the A/C, (no change on or off,) or the engine itself. It seems more like an electric motor with excessive bearing / bushing wear. The noise occurs only with the engine running and will get louder as the RPM is increased - loud enough to hear over my Borla exhaust. I would appreciate your help and advise.
    Thanks,
    Tom

Read the thread below. It may be a bad bearing on your blelt tensioner.

Doesn't seem like a belt tensioner would go bad at 65K miles, but then I had a wheel bearing assembly go out at 44K miles. The noise I'm hearing has a medium pitch and does not seem to change after the car warms up. I'm not at home base so I'll have to take my chances with the local Ford dealer. Maybe the ESP will cover the problem.

Fords are notorious for bad tensioner and noisy belts. I have owned many and most got noisy by 50K miles I changed belt and tensioner pn my 150 at 38,000 and thought I had a new truck

Had to change mine at about 50,000. Did not make the noise when cold, but would in a short time - 30 - 45 seconds. Changed the belt at the same time
