Does anyone know if the seatbelt alarm is inadvertently disabled when you disable the passenger airbag? I know it doesn't make any sense whatsoever, but has anyone experienced this before?

I tried this and it didn't work for me so I bought a seatbelt extender from advanced auto. It actually works great and even make plugging in the belt easier if you use it.

Gene, thanks for the info. I need a reminder as well, but there are times the car nags you to death.

You can also get a short seatbelt extender from Ford dealer for free! Just ask the parts person.

as I read the manual it seems that the seat belt "warning" can not be removed (fist time in car it gives light and chime) but when you follow the procedure the seat belt "reminder" is deactivated(continues to light and chimes as you drive at recurring intervals).

driving without a seat belt on is a different issue altogether
            figured I needed something here
